Privacy Policy
How Serpgy handles your information.
Serpgy is built to be simple and respectful of your data. This policy explains what information is handled when you use our website and tools, and the choices you have.
Overview
Serpgy provides free, browser-based tools. No account is required, and the tools are designed to process what you enter on your own device wherever practical.
By using the site you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
What you enter into the tools
Text, files, images and other inputs you use in a tool are processed locally in your browser. We do not upload them to our servers, and we cannot see them.
A few tools load a small open-source library (for example for QR codes, barcodes or YAML) from a public content delivery network the first time they are used. Only the library is downloaded; your input is not sent.
The Text to Speech tool uses the speech engine built into your browser or operating system. Depending on your browser and the voice you choose, that engine may be provided by a third party, so please review your browser's own privacy information.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may record standard technical data when pages are requested, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages requested and timestamps. This data is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, prevent abuse and understand overall reliability.
If we add analytics in the future, we will describe them here and update the date at the top of this page.
Local storage and cookies
Serpgy stores a small amount of data in your browser's local storage to make the site more convenient: your light or dark theme choice and a short list of recently used tools. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us.
You can remove it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings. Clearing it simply resets these preferences.
Serpgy does not use its own cookies to track you. Third-party services described below, such as advertising providers, may set cookies of their own where advertising is enabled.
Third-party services
To load the site we rely on third-party providers, including Google Fonts (typefaces) and cdnjs by Cloudflare (icons and tool libraries). When your browser requests files from these services, they receive standard request information such as your IP address and browser details, under their own privacy policies:
Advertising
Serpgy is free to use and may display advertising to help cover running costs. Where advertising is enabled, ad partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads, and, where required by law, will ask for your consent first.
You can manage personalised advertising through your browser settings and, for Google, at adssettings.google.com.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above to operate and secure the site, fix problems, improve the tools, comply with legal obligations, and respond to messages you send us.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site (such as hosting and advertising partners), when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of Serpgy and its users.
Retention
Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention practices. Messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of the conversation.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email us at support@serpgy.com and we will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
Because tool inputs never leave your device, there is usually nothing about them for us to access or delete.
Children's privacy
Serpgy is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and we follow reasonable practices to protect the limited information we handle. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information by email.
International processing
Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where this happens, it is subject to the safeguards and policies of those providers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
